Hypothetical situation...:
A friend of mine grandfather is very ill and his father went to Israel to visit him there. His grandfather has a late 1930's early 1940's Luger pistol that will be given by his grandfather either to my friend or to his father... (he also has a couple of Turkish shotguns which are of less sentimental importance)
Here's the question:
How can the gun, the Luger, be brought into California?
1- Can it be transported (locked container, in pieces) by my friend's father and then have paper work done once in the state?
2- Can it be shipped to a California FFL?
3- Etc.???
Any input would be very helpful.
Thanks,
YBZ

IIRC, You have to find an FFL with an importers permit to bring it into the states. Your best bet is to look on the BATFE site for importing firearms.

You could always pay Gene to smuggle it in on that big boat of his.. :)

Check with BATFE... they will have lists of FFLS that have the permit.

Highbridge Arms in SF will do it for $200. This only includes paperwork, you have to do shipping and everything from the other end yourself.

Peter Koch at Bullseye Shooting range in San Raefal has one.
