I have an H&R garand that i am considering selling, but am not sure how to establish a value. Any ideas where i can find out what it is worth? websites to recommend?

go to the CMP website and look up the different grades and the prices for an entry level idea of what its worth.

This.

Unless it's some rare collectable with all matching numbers, or something else that makes it stand out(besides some unconfirmed story), you're pretty much going to get CMP pricing for it.

Not true. CMP guns resell for $100 - $200 more on the open market.

Post some pictures of the gun and close ups of the barrel crown and inside the chamber. You can likely sell your Garand for $700 pretty quick.

I haven't seen a garand sell for less than $800 except for at the CMP. GunBroker is a good way to gauge value.
