I have a 10 round Thermold plastic mag and it drops free every time I shoot. I don't think it's a mag release problem because Pmags and steel GI's work fine. Just a bad mag I guess. Anyone have this problem?

Thermold mags are crappy mags, that being said I have a 20 rounder that hasn't failed me yet. But from what I hear the majority of thermold mags suck.

Stick with pmags and quality GI mags.

your mag latch might be a littel bit off. I've seen some with a .070" "catch" and others with as little as .040. (This matters when you're retrofitting fal mags into an ar10 lower.)

Or just dont use the thermold...?

Yep. Even in free states, they're still pretty craptacular. I had a dozen at one time. After careful testing, I got rid of all but TWO.

I use THOSE two, as range mags. To work malfunction drills. :o
