I have this beauty but the 1 thing its missing is a front sight. I am willing to spend about $40 on one. Is there anything out there for that price? In the sales section i see them for like a $100.
Please post a link.

You need a rail mount front site. That block should match the height of the a quad rail.

Agreed, not a good idea. Especially if Norcal plans on shooting for extended amounts of time

Edit: More than what you wanted to spend... but IMHO definitely worth it

does not look like you are using a rear sight, so why do you need one on the front?

@mrplink.
That optic is coming off and an aimpoint is replacing it. I got the rifle like that.

That looks like a JD Machine rail height gas block. I have actually used an MBUS on one of those for several years. Even doing several mag dumps (it's a featureless build some of the time) with no ill effects. It is mounted higher than some of the other versions by other companies. And that big hole in the front of it increases the surface area for cooling. Think of it as a heat sink. That being said, look at something like the Yankee Hill versions of folding front sights. They run in the $50-60 range. Less if you find them used. I would stay away from anything my leapers, UTG or Mako. Yes, they are low priced, but they are usually airsoft quality.

well that makes much more sense!

Have you considered maybe lurking the used forum?
LMT fixed front sights are one of my fav, and they can usually be found pretty cheap used. I

As long as you get the real aimpoint (as opposed to a fakepoint) and you're comfortable shooting with it, why even bother with BUIS? With an eotech it may be a legit concern, but as long as you replace the batteries once a year, an aimpoint won't die on you.

@honkingantelope.
Reason is. I have 2 Real Aimpoints but it is glass and glass can break. But you are rite the aimpoint keeps on going. The aimpoint that is going on the AR i accidentally left on for a month on high and battery is still good.

Polymer on a gas block? :shock:

I've heard this numerous times, but my MBUS has not melted despite hundreds of rounds in a short afternoon where the ambient temp was close to 100.
