Just pick up our new axis xp rifles in .308 and .30-06. Very nice rifles cant wait to take them out. Spent about $40 on ammo for each which only got us about 40 rounds also...... Then my new cheaper than dirt catalog came in, and i see Bear ammo about $9 a box of 20 for .308 and $11 for .30-06. Has anyone tried this ammo? If so, how is it. And is there anything i need to know about ordering online? Thanks - Rob

Nothing special about ordering online unless you live in a restricted city/county.

Post some pictures of your new toys.

By "bear" ammo do you mean brown/silver bear? if so dont expect it to be super accurate. Don't get me wrong it's low cost gets the job done and i love it, i just dont want you to think your rifles aren't shooting as well as you think they should.

i like those stocks

Yes brown bear and silver bear. We were also thinking wolf. Just cheap ammo to do some target shooting. Will get better ammo when we go after the hogs :-) Both rifles ran us $800.76 out the door at bass pro shop.

Bear ammo out of my savage 11 308 at 150 yards is slightly less accurate than wally world federal brand... not by a whole lot though

I own two of these rifles. .223 and .308. Both are consistent sub MOA rifles with handloads...pretty much ANY handload with a sierra bullet in it.

Not occasional "wow, gotta put that one up on a forum somewhere" MOA. CONSISTENT sub MOA. Again, with handloads. Don't know about box ammo. I didn't shoot enough box ammo with them to know.

Bought a box of super-x power points for the .223 and shot two of them into a deer's heart at 175 yards. Shot the rest sighting in and fooling around and bought a bag of brass. Been handloading for it ever since.

They have to be the sleeper rifle of the century for the hunter on a budget. Enjoy your new rifles. Appreciate them for exactly what they are and you WILL be amazed, for what you spent.

Oh, www.snipershide.com is a place you will find a legitimate 10 round mag for this...i am not in california, so forgive me if 10 rounds isn't legal...i can't keep up with your laws.

We are limited to 10 rounds. Thanks for that information. Ill have to get a few of those mags. I'm hoping to get some reloading equipment soon, so ill be running my own handload. I'm looking at the Lee classic turret press. But until then ill have to stick to box ammo.
