The car was a 6cyl car originally? I ask because you speak of a 5 lug conversion.

I dont think so the guy we bought it from was the second owner and he said that it was always a 289. In the pictures it shows that I took the 289 out and was going to put the 302 in.

What's the 5th digit in the VIN? If it's a T or V, it originally was a 6 cylinder. If it's an A, C, or K, it's an original V8 car. If it's a D or F then it's a "64 1/2" V8 car.

nope, Oh well though atleast it wasnt any of my cars. Are you going to be at work on the 9th. I pick up my new piece and Im going to get that remington 870.

I've had one. Not fun. I found out the hard way, yes there is a difference between 6cyl and 8cyl suspension, and yes, you can and will break a spindle with a V8 on 6 cyl spindles.
