As part of its continuing mission to educate and assist law-abiding Californians in the exercise of their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, The Calguns Foundation is proud to announce a multi-state cooperative carry license training opportunity in the Los Angeles area (http://bit.ly/cgf_ryman_06032012). The class, to be held on June 3, 2012, at Angeles Shooting Range just north of Los Angeles, will be lead by NRA-certified instructor Greg Ryman of Ryman Tactical Firearms Training.

This comprehensive course of training will provide the basis for carry licensure (or carry by reciprocity) in all states that "surround California” and more, including Arizona, Oregon, and Florida. (Note that an Arizona license is valid in Nevada via reciprocity.) Arizona and Florida carry license application packets, including fingerprint cards, will be provided to all students at the class.

Defensive Pistol 1 is a tactical pistol class that focuses on introductory techniques and skills. Being a defensive class, the curriculum will be structured around avoiding and moving away from a threat. Students will be working from a holster and will learn proper draw and presentation techniques.

Some of the topics covered are:

Firearm Safety
Situational Awareness
Proper Grip
Sight Alignment and Picture
Stance
Draw and Presentation
Reloading
Malfunction Clearing
Moving and Shooting
Different Shooting Positions

The course is compromised of classroom time as well as range time. Following the training course, Calguns Foundation has sponsored the balance of the day for a fun and informative afternoon of shooting.

The maximum class size is limited to 20 students, so act now and reserve your spot today (http://bit.ly/cgf_ryman_06032012)!

Date: Sunday, June 3, 2012
Time: Starts 9:00 a.m. sharp, ends 1:00 p.m; range time follows the class to 5:00 p.m.

More information can be found at http://bit.ly/cgf_ryman_june2012.

If this was up in SF Bay Area, I'd definitely do it.

I never did put the name to the calguns alias while we were there, MD. Nice meeting you yesterday.

It was a pleasure having your guys there!

Great class, and very productive. It was a lot of fun showing you guys some new things and pushing your limits.

We're taking July and August off because of the heat, but we will have our Defensive Pistol 2 class in either September or October, and quite possibly another CGF sponsored event.

I have a fairly good memory for faces, but I’m terrible with names. I pretty much need to have the connections beaten into me … repeatedly. Still, it’s always great to meet fellow Calgunners.
