View Full Version : Proud Papa of a new baby!

Just wanted to show off my latest acquisition. It is a Night Hawk T3. Several years ago I got the opportunity to shoot a Wilson Combat 1911 and have been in love ever since. Have dreamed of owning a custom 1911 for some time. About three weeks ago, I was at Canyon Sports in Martinez and I saw this baby sitting in the case. Asked to see it and it was over in about a minute when I heard that the order time for one is 9 months. Had to sell three other guns to backfill the hole created in my checking account due to the T3 but after shooting it a couple times at the range, I have to say it was worth every penny. All of my buddies are lining up for dibs on it if I were to ever want to sell it. It shoots great. Has what you would expect in a nice smooth trigger pull and it is accurate as hell. I ordered the custom knife that accompanies the gun and they make an offer at Night Hawk for new owners to get a good deal on additional mags. Six mags for $99 dollars. Here are some pics.

Congratulations. That is one hell of a fine firearm. I've selected it to be my 2nd 1911, one day...eventually. It'll make a nice companion to the S&W PC1911 currently in the safe.

If anyone is interested in a Night Hawk, Canyon Sports had at least two more of them (different models) last time I was a few days ago. It's a wonderful pistol and you won't be disappointed.

Very nice, I have always wanted a nighthawk. Sooooooo clean just the right amount of markings on the gun.

The magwell is a custom item they make I guess. It is thinner or narrower. So you can put slim grips on it and the edges of the well still won't be wider than the grip. It is very tastefully done.

Now that is sexy.

Sweet looking gun.

Here are a couple pics of the magwell. As you can see it is narrower than most and will accommodate slim grips and not stick out. Good for carry. And the butt of the magazine has a floor plate buffer that is tapered to fit into the magwell rather nicely.

Love those grips!

I'd rock that setup. I'm super picky and opinionated about what I carry, and that setup looks like it was done right the first time. Very nice. Thanks for posting it up.

Jlbflyboy I'm pretty sure I fondled that model two months ago when I was at Canyon Sports.
Very nice purchase. I like the grips.

It was probably the same gun. I too think they got this one right the first time. No changes required or needed. It is perfect just as it is. Two trips to the range and a couple hundred rounds so far and no issues all and it hits right on the money.

Congrats......I was never brave enough to hold it, even though Brian offered plenty of times, if I had I might've ended up with it like you did!

Congrats. Those grips are awesome looking on the T3. No front serrations = sexy looking.

Oh man that thing is sweet! My next 1911 will be custom, and I just started saving (because I've been spending). Might have to go to Canyon Sports tomorrow and quit all of this silly saving stuff. Congrats!

On of the things that is slick about this particular model is that it has a commander size slide at 4.25 and an Officers size grip. A little shorter grip for better concealment but with the magazine in it is quite perfectly comfortable. Does not fall short. Several guys have shot it and no one complained that the grip was too small. It is a perfect marriage of all the right elements (for me and my purposes).

Those light-colored grips look great! Nice pick-up!
