Was just there to fondle the SP01 I bought on Monday, and as soon as I walk in they say, "guess what? We got ANOTHER one in"

So as of 1:45pm I believe they still have one. I paid $699 for mine. A little high but they are pretty hard to find. Somebody snag it so we can be SP01 twinsies.

You can call and put a deposit on one and then pay in full at the store. That's what I did.

I'm glad I jumped on the SP-01 bandwagon back in 2008. The prices have sky rocketed - I payed $550 after dealer fees but even at $699 that gun is worth every penny.

It's for sale because of me...

I told everyone I knew that once I gave up on looking for my CZ, it would be for sale a few days later. I bought my 1911 on Sunday and now this happens :)

I actually dros'd a 1911 9mm last thursday after not being able to find a SP01 anywhere. And then I saw Guns Direct had one. So I bought it too ;)

I would snag it, but I don't feel like paying over $700 for it..great gun though.

I was just at Guns Direct, bought a new Spikes upper there.

Drat! I have been in the hunt for something smaller framed than my 4" GP100 as my wife has expressed interest in learning how to shoot something more potent than my Buckmark. She's recoil sensitive, so a 3" SP101 seemed like the perfect solution. Smaller frame and lighter weight than the GP100, but not a lightweight snubbie, so it should help tame recoil, especially with .38 Special rounds. After a fifteen month search, and not finding an SP101, I came across a 4" S&W Model 15-4 that seems to fit the bill just fine, and probably has a better trigger than an SP101 will ever have. I likely would have jumped on this one if it had come up three weeks ago, even at the high price. The 15-4 will never shoot .357 Magnums, but is +P rated for .38 special, so it will cover everything I really wanted in this gun. I probably could have found the SP101 online in the last fifteen months, but have never held one and won't buy a gun I've never held to see how it feels in my hand.

Just curious, is the one at Guns Direct one a 3" model or the 2"?

Ah yes, the ever elusive CZ SP101. Or was it the Ruger SP01?

I do see SP101s regularly however, and I actually think I saw one at guns direct. I know I saw a GP100 there also.

It would appear that I still have the little Ruger on the brain.

I predict it's gone by 1:45 tomorrow.

$699 is a little high, but the sting of paying an extra $50-70 will be gone before finishing the first box of ammo.

SP-01 truly is a "Wonder-Nine" as they say. Mine is sitting on the desk right above the mouse as I type this, and when I go to bed in a minute it will go into the nightstand next to me. There used to be a Sig there, but it was replaced by my new favorite pretty quickly.

Considering I swooped up my SP01 30 min after they advertised its arrival on Facebook and that a couple guys came in after trying to buy it, I don't doubt it. Pretty amazing another one arrived two days later. Al the other shops I called were out with no idea when they'd get one in stock.

I pride myself in hunting down deals, but in this case I did not mind coughing up a little extra for something that was hard for me to find. I can't wait to shoot my new RIA 9mm and my SP01 !

Congrats! I really need one, I say that was not a bad deal considering the type of gun it is and the demand it has.

Wait till October, I bet their $1000. Personaly, I'm not buying into the hype. I refuse to pay over MSRP for anything.

Did you get the 9mm or the .40?

Due to the reflection at the bottom of the rail, and that piece of paper. At first glance (and on an iPhone) the gun looked weird, kind of squished from top to bottom! Weird picture effect!

I paid close to that for a used SP-01, but it came with 9 magazines, adjustable sights, FO front sight, aluminum grips,CZ85 triggersome CGW parts and Matt Mink trigger job. I bought it off a USPSA shooter and it's now my USPSA production gun. He sold it as he had a customized SP-01 Shadow (which is off roster)

Seriously, I don't even think about what I paid for it (except when responding to threads!) because it's awesome and like I said, it's my USPSA gun and the cost of the gun pales in comparison to all the other stuff you pay for (match fees, ammo components). But I don't eat at extravagent restaurants or go to the movie theatre (family of 4, that's $45-$50!!) so it's my splurge.

OP, you got a good gun. $700? Whatever, it's awesome! Still miles cheaper than a fancy shmancy 1911! (buy the SP and the RIA Tac!)

They are a great gun. I also bought the Kadet 22lr for mine and love that also. Now if only I can get my girlfriend to remember that its my gun and not hers when we go to the range.

Man I still want one ;___; been looking for a while for one. But fell in love with a PCR a few weeks ago and got that.

I don't think I want to spend that kind of money though ;___;

Ive shot the sp01 tactical in40 at the range. Nice. Very nice. Except i looked for months to sse and got tired of waiting and moved on to finding a PPQ and when not available i went for a last HK p30 again wanted an L but non available. I definitely went beyond what i was willing to pay for my first handgun. But i think I can convince the soon to be wife in the future of an sp-01 tactical purchase a little easier then an HK...haha
