Nice! One question, so with those pearcew finger groove inserts, do your regular grips get layered on over the insert piece?

Nice. Mine gets out of jail in 7 days and I was considering the same grips/grooves.

Let me know how you like them! It's hard to decide without shooting them first!

Yes they do. The rubber area under the grips are very thin maybe 1 or 2mm?

@drunktank. They feel great! Haven't shot with them yet. Based on what I've read online, there a lot of people who tend tend to favor these or the frags more than others due to feel. A lot of people use these on their carry weapon. Most people have the operator IIs, biggest complaint of them is being too sharp. Sanding will fix it.

@chosenfew805. You definitely made a wise choice as well.

Wow, everyone is buying these puppies up just like the sig 1911's. I am glad I got both of mine years ago, lol.

Congrats, great choice.

Yeah, people are eating them up (which is a great thing). I am glad as well the price hasn't gone up. Hopefully the supply doesn't go down anytime soon because the demand isn't going anywhere near down, as far as I can tell.

I wanted to ask what type of mag do you have in there?

you made a great choice in RIA, i personally love all 3 of my RIA's especially my tactical, i use it over my SA loaded all the time, i did have to get the sights replaced since i wanted fiber in the front and white dot fixed in the rear.

the pearce grips with the VZ's are awsome. i have the same setup on mine except its the operators II, incredible grip on them, couldnt ever imagine losing grip due to water or sweat.

the california roster is either killing me, or saving me a ton of money, i would buy at least 10 RIA's if i have the chance.

http://centerfiresystems.com/armscor.aspx has a great selection..

I would love to get the nickle tactical, the railed tactical and the match... to bad the match is the only one of the three on the roster.

My appt is after 12 so gonna hit Angeles range in the morning - burn some energy/excitement so I dont run out and start shooting her immediately after picking her up.

Kimber pro tac mag I believe. ($26.99+).. came with 2 rubber plates on the bottom for some reason they were cheaper than the other kimber mags which ran about $33.99 I think.
Someone one here recommended kimber mags... if anyone has any other input on mags feel free to pass the info!

To the few of you who got it thr EBR. Congrats! I was about to purchase (SSE) the 2011 tactical w/night sights from them around december... I wish I did, I recently contacted them and was told that they haven't came accross any .45 RIAs as often as before... had to settle for this baby. Definitely want a 9...

@Jamail. Seriously! I'd want each cal and color scheme.

Thanks again fellow gunners!

@jamail... so did you end up sending it out to armscor for replacing the sights? How much did it run you if u don't mind?

Been wanting to go to that range. Let me know how it is..

Its real nice up there.. the pistol area has plenty of steel targets to plink.. the rifle area(s) are nice and open. You should definitely check it out. Out of the few indoor and outdoor ranges, people tend to favor Angeles the best.

Forgive my ignorance, gentlemen, but I can't find RIA on the DOJ's list of "approved" firearms. I was going to order one but I thought they had to be "on the list"???

RIA stands for Rock Inland Armory and I think you can find them under Armscor as well.

The gun OP bought is 100% CA Compliant, no need for SEE.

I hope this helps!

Too bad you are up North.

EBR down in SoCal has them for about $620 after SSE tax and DROS.
