That's why this is failed political strategy.

Give the the *appearance* of being able to control things, but with shall-issue.
Makes it far more palatable and with equivalent results - and then you can corner
things procedurally and with legal fights.

No. They're POLITICIANS.

Never mistake politicans for friends. Politicians are animals that respond to pressure and votes and money. Period.

Not to mention the leadership had time to go after the gays only to waste a lot time & getting clobbered in a vote where the majority of their party votes against repeal?

^^^This^^^ with very rare exceptions is the truth!

There may be a very few who are faithful to their constituents and to the Constitution - but they are quickly isolated by the leadership and rendered ineffective if not kicked out of office. Not sure I can think of any in Congress who are true and faithful with the possible exception of Allen West?

This is exactly why we need to vote ALL of them out.

I am very interested in West, as I was Palin. I get the least amount of bullfeathers and more straight talk. Palin threw a baby shower for a friend at a skeet range once (nice, sunny outdoor day in AK) and when ask by the reporter why a skeet range, she said "cause it gets liberals all weeweed up." BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

As NH is one of my two "home states" a little more info on the fellow pushing this, Senator Bragdon. He attended college in MA. His district (the 11th) is very close to the MA - NH border. When MA transplants scoot over the border they often don't go very far, just enough to escape the sales and state income tax but not far enough to shed their foolishness. Senator Bragdon probably has a fair amount of these folks in his district.

There are alot of gun stores in the surrounding districts, hopefully those folks will apply pressure.

Since I have family & friends there I am writing the Senator, maybe others might want to do the same and let him know people outside NH are interested in the result.
