So, I went to Los Altos to try out my first and (currently) only new ar, and ran into a whole bunch of cal-gunners. Good to see the community is nice and active, and looking forward to going to one of these shoot-n-"Q"'s that I heard about. I know that I met Bill there, but could anyone else I ran into (or if you were just at Los Altos on Sunday with an AR) sound off, so I can put names to the new faces. With hearing protection on, and so much excitement about my new rifle, I wasn't really able to remember anything when I got home...

Thanks,

-K

Nice to meet you!

I was there with my buddies Parag (a new Calgunner) and Phil (who will get online one of these days, but is a Calgunner in spirit and has been to some ShootN-Qs). Calgunner Edsel also showed up.

Perfect weather, and Parag's CMMG rifle shot like a dream. Anyone who sez chrome-lined barrels can't deliver sub-MOA accuracy is fulla horsehockey.

It was great putting faces to names. Nice to meet all of you.

Yeah, the AR shoots way better than I can. Fortunately Bill was willing to zero it in for me. :) He and Phil got several overlapping 3-round groups.

Man! I need to get up there more often...I'm just spoiled at my private range (15 mins away). Too bad I don't run into many Calgunners there...

Do many of you guys go there often? is it a "regular" thing?

Met Bill there twice and fellow calgunners who often shoot at Los Altos.

I've been up there a few times, but then i discovered metcalf.. easier to get to, but no tin can range :(

Probably met a calgunner or 2 up there. Last time i was up there I was firing my new mauser on the 50.. blew right threw the target stand.. oops!
there were 2 guys at the 100y with nice ARs and one of them was explaining the laws and such to his buddy.

Ya, But you sure cant beat that nice little private range. Took my boy there last Friday. I only seen one person while I was there. I wonder if you could shoot a 1919 there. Never seen one at that range.

Awesome. It was great meeting all of you.

Bill, Parag, Edsel, Phil. Can't wait to see you again.

And to the rest of you...Looking forward to meeting y'all. If you see me on the range, come up and say hi. I'll be the one with the very simple (no scopes, no tac-gear, etc) M4-gery and the wicked-stupid grin on my face as I'm popping off shots.
May even have to get another ca legal ar for the wife. She had a blast firing mine, and finally understands why I wanted one.

Wasn't there Saturday, but I was on Thursday trying out my IHC Garand. I did introduce another shooter to Calguns while I was there:)

^ Huh? Those holes are kind of small for .30-06

It's pretty regular in the summer. We shoot for at least once a month but work and weather can intrude. Both Bill and I need Percussive Therapy to keep our sanity. :)

Nice to meet the both of you as well! Glad to hear she was enjoying herself. She's gonna want her own AR after you get yours, y'know. As soon as she learns that they can be *accessorized*. :)

Yes, I know at least two of the RSOs working that day are calgunners.

Looks like he grabbed the wrong target. I think those are .22 holes (or smaller) and not .30 cal holes.
