Looking for a safe to sit by my bed, do not need (yet) a full size for long guns, would like to have room for pistol, mags, spare knife, flashlight, maybe some cash and papers.

Was looking at this, http://www.armtactical.com/shooting-accessories/safes/gunvault-deluxe-multi-vault-multi-vault-deluxe-safe.html

But everywhere these GunVault safes have such mixed reviews I can't seem to "pull the trigger" on it. (lol @ totally awesome pun!)

What is comparable in size, but reliable and well built?

Thank you.

I love my gun vault dx 2000. Works well and is. Perfect for my night stand.

there is a "Handgun Safe Reviews" Sticky in this section (Accessories: Holsters, Safes, Locks & more). hope it's helpful.

I use one of these. It's not really classified as a heavy duty safe and definitely not fireproof, but even the smaller heavy duty fire safes can be taken as a whole and cut open later, so I didn't feel it was justified to spend hundreds on one. Has a programmable numbered keypad and a hidden backup lock that uses a key. Also comes with mounting hardware and pre-drilled holes on the bottom to bolt it down to the floor.

I think I paid $99. There is a smaller one for $69. Can't beat the price. Got it at Sportsman's Supply in Campbell but I see them at other shops.
