I was browsing my local gun shop when I saw a beautiful stainless steel Sig 1911 calling out to me to buy her.

Nervous about purchasing my first 1911, (I didn't really like my friends RIA), I waited like a kid for Santa for the first opportunity to shoot her. Thankfully my LGS lets you shoot your purchases during your 10 day wait so the first weekend during the wait, I put a flawless box 50 through her.

WOW, I though the CZ has a great trigger. Best groupings I've ever shot. I kept pushing the target out and I kept hitting the center circle.

Very happy with my purchase. And to think I picked her up for $650!!

Can't believe I'm trolling the for sale section for another 1911....

For $650 I'd say you got an excellent steal. A sig 1911 might be my next purchase!

Well I do not have any 1911's myself but just handled the Sig Platinum 1911 at my local range & gun shop and now I want it!

That is an excellent price for that pistol. And our course you were disappointed with the RIA! You've got a SIG.

Seems that a lot of folks are buying Sig 1911's on this forum lately :D

Great deal and great choice. Can't beat an American made 1911.

I'm waiting for the day that Sig comes out with a full length dust cover railed 1911. Congrats on your purchase and the cool aid WILL get sweeter with each passing day.

Very nice and you sir definitely got a good price. 1911's are addictive. I ended up buying 4 in 6 months. Still want more. Actually I NEED more. Thats what i tell the wife. :D

Sharp looking gun. There are a surprising number of people who have never fired a 1911. Even on a relatively inexpensive model, the trigger is going to break way more crisp than on most any other gun. Especially, compared with any double action semi-autos.
Out of curiosity, did you change out the slide stop lever? At least in your photos, it looks like it has a different finish than the rest of the gun.

Thanks for the love gentlemen!! YES, it was talking to me saying "Buy me, hide from wife. Buy me, hide from wife" Spooky kinda.

Shot it today and like you said oliveview, the break is amazing. I think it made me a better shooter over say my CZ or 226.

That slide stop is how it came out of the Sig box. Nothing in the documentation indicated it was swapped out.

Was looking at my sales receipt, it says for condition, "New". Perhaps the man upstairs was looking out for me after writing a HUGE check to the IRS this year.

Already have some Chip McCormick 10 round mags. They work great and fall free easily. I installed some Hogue rubber grips with the larger palm swell. Doesn't look as sexy but fits my hand much better.

The sights are Novak sights which I think I will keep on there for some time. With astigmatism, I usually like something a little brighter but these shall do for now.

Really just concentrating on educating myself about the platform. Have several youtube videos on takedown and cleaning that I'm watching. Worried about the whole idiot scratch so I will be trying the business card trick I read about.

Thanks again! Great to be a 1911 owner!

Ah, shooting at USI, nothing like shooting at 2' high targets....sorry. Really wish they would redesign their shooting range so that you don't have to aim down at your target!

To the OP, great deal ad great looking gun!
