I'm not sure my link will work but S&W shows 3 available, the 317, 317 Kit Gun and the 63.

It looks like they are all on the CA safe handgun list: http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/

The current S&W 63 with the 3" barrel looks nice. Here is my S&W 63-3 with a 4" barrel which is no longer made. Good luck with your search.

I believe the 63 is a "K" Frame, and not a "J" frame. Still great guns.

Jeff Quinn - Gunblast.com:

"The 63, like the model 34, was offered with either a two-inch or four-inch barrel. The four-inch offers the ideal combination of portability and practical accuracy. Built on the J-frame, the 63 is much more compact than the models 17 and 18, which are built on the larger K-frame. The K-frame guns, while accurate and strong, do not offer the same combination of portability and handiness of the 63."
