hi guys,

I'm looking to change the mainspring housing of my EMP 9mm
is this size gonna fit it?
http://www.rockwellarms.com/Store/ProductDetails/Wilson-Combat-Speed-Chute-Flat-Compact-Bullet-Proof-Stless-366SFO
I've been told that the officers size fit the EMP...
is Officers and Compact the same?

thx for your help!

I can't say for sure but the mainspring housing might fit but I don't think the magwell will be the right size. I have a EMP and I got my msh/magwell from Smith & Alexander. The part has to be custom made and they have a frame in house to fit this part for. You need to call them and tell them you have a EMP and they will make it. They don't charge any extra to do this and the price is fair and good quality and I got mine in just over a week.

Here's their website. http://www.smithandalexander.com/index.htm

Here's a pic of mine.

The Wilson you linked to will not fit the EMP magwell

It is an officer sized mainspring. Be prepared to make adjustments to a new one. I got a Wilson that did not line up 100%. When you get it slide the new mainspring housing in the frame and see if the holes line up. Mine did not. Wilson said this is common. You will need to get a round file and take the metal off the new mainspring housing. File and check, repeat until it all lines up correctly. Then clean shavings out of the mainspring and install the guts. Easy as that.

Go with what redhemi mentioned. It will save you some time and trouble, plus it will look more fitted when bought from S&A. S&A does both magwell and sans magwell.
