The serial number you have listed would be for a 1912 Colt model 1911 (not 1911a1)which wouldn't be a .38 super. I think you need to post some pictures if you're interested in finding the value and double-check the serial number. Also if "pristine" = "refinished" the value will be substantially different.

If the serial number has been alterred some serious legal questions are raised.

It should be a 1929 since that's the 1st year the 38 super came out. Price all depends on the condition and if all parts are original. Post some pics. I know someone who may be interested in it.

Ahh, I see now that serial number 370 could also be a 1929 38 super based upon http://proofhouse.com/colt/index.html I didn't realize they duplicated serial numbers on some models.

Will be interesting to see pictures if available to see if it's original. If so a great number of other people along with myself would be interested I'm sure.

Can post or email me pics of the hammer, slide stop, front plug, mag release, main spring housing, trigger, and safety? Can you confirm if they're checkered? Is the finish original or has it been refinished? Is the mag an original 2 tone mag? Can't gauge the value until after. Looks great so far.

If slide number matches the frame, pistol is worth 2 grand easy. Finish in pics looks original! Pete
