Has the "out of battery" issue been taken care of?

Most of the complaints online have been from a while back.

I really, really like this gun but if it's not 100%, I dont want it.

Think about all the ones that work flawlessly, and no one writes about them online.

That being said, i am interested as well.

Go get it :) Bought mine a year ago & it hasn't blown up! I like shooting it 300-500 rounds a session. Someone on the S&W forum that did a nice little reliability test:

"I have cleaned the gun three times during the first 1000 rounds I have shot through it. I have used FrogLube each of those three times, heating up the parts and applying. At the 1000 round mark, I decided to see how dirty it would get before it wouldn't operate....

Each time I shoot, I perform full magazine dumps. I don't single-fire the rifle, except on range demo's to inquisitive range masters.

Since the 1000 round mark:
- I have shot 6,500 rounds
- I have not cleaned or oiled
- I have not had any failures, other than a dead primer on a 22lr.
- It has operated perfectly."

He got to 8,500 before his firing pin broke. He was using the slide-fire with the thing.

I've had my MOE 15/22 for around 2.5 years. It gets 550-1100 rounds a month and has never given me any issues. My sons like it better than their 10/22's and it makes every range trip. Get 1 and shoot the hell out of it, you won't be sorry.

My kids getting hurt is what worries me most.

the issue was only related to the first run of the rifle. 15-22's have been out for 3 or 4 iterations now. the 2nd iteration fixed it.

I've lost count on how many rounds I've fired with mine. I usually shoot 700-1000 rounds per trip. It hasn't blown up yet. I've had it for about a year now.

I love my 15-22 MOE - BUT S&W is no longer making the MOE version so if you see it somewhere get it before its gone (S&W still has it on their web page though)

my 10/22 hasnt seen the range for over a year and a half :)

I wouldn't worry about a 15/22 hurting your kids. Like I said we put 1-2 bricks a month through our 15/22. The problems were with the 1st generation models. Get 1 and shoot it with confidence.

Agreed - prob. Fixed long ago.
