Does anyone know what's going on with the low end Liberty Centurion safes at Lowes?

I've been watching and the old standby CE12 14 (http://www.lowes.com/pd_292952-10283-CE12-BK_0__?productId=1242371&Ntt=centurion+safe&pl=1&currentURL=%2Fpl__0__s%3FNtt%3Dcenturion%2Bsafe&facetInfo=) gun has been out of stock for quite a while.

I just noticed a different model showed up online in stock, the CN12 (http://www.lowes.com/pd_387166-10283-CN12-BKT_0__?productId=3651543&Ntt=centurion+safe&pl=1&currentURL=%2Fpl__0__s%3FNtt%3Dcenturion%2Bsafe&facetInfo=). Its listed as a 12 gun safe and has smaller dimensions, at the same $397 regular price.

The CN12 has no reviews, so I sort of assume its newer, maybe a replacement or a new model to Lowes.

I made a quick screen grab of the comparison for easy reference.

I was hoping to pickup the CE12, even at regular price, but the new one being smaller makes me hesitant.

Would you happen to know approximately when they'll go on sale?

Rhino metals told me it would go on sale On Costco.com on June 14th. This would def. be a better safe for you.

I was at Lowes in February and the sales manager said that model was discontinued and would be replaced. Looks like the CN12 is the new replacement which is even smaller. I would pass and get something bigger that you can grow with rather than having a tight fit IMHO.

CN 12 is made in USA and CN 14 is made in China. I got this info looking at the lowes web site under their question and answer section, and this was the response by lowes.

I got it last time it went on sale. Delivery included and it's a great safe. Compared to my buddies Cannon Scout and my other buddies liberty CE-12, mine is way nicer. I love it and am completely satisfied with it. And the best part about it is if I wasn't, Costco would come get it and fully refund my money. All I had to do is drag it into the house.

Ive been looking at gun safes myself, particularly the centurions @ lowes. The CN12 is the replacement of CE12, difference is its fireproof but a little bit smaller. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the CN20 @ lowes and i think its the perfect size. Thank god i didnt get the 12 guns because those wouldve been small.

Lowes in the past had the small Liberty Centurion 12 on sale for $299 on Black Fridays, but this year they substituted a Stack-On model instead.

However, they have dropped the regular price of the USA-made Liberty Centurion CN12 (http://www.lowes.com/pd_387166-10283-CN12-BKT_0__?productId=3651543) from $399 to $349.

Just picked up the smaller 12 gun Liberty. Overall I am very pleased with the quality and the price. The inside of the safe is very, very tight and not very battle rifle friendly. Pistol grips and optics make placing rifles difficult. One thing I was able to do is remove the carpeted board which divides the safe into two sides. Without that board in, fitting rifles with pistol grips, scopes, optics, carry handles, etc is much, much easier. I have 6 rifles in mine and should be able to squeeze in two more. Tight fit though.
