Based on our experience with 'no-shows', I've bumped up the number of spots available. So there are more tickets available for June (and future months as well).

Hi, I'm curious on what exactly you are recruiting for. I've been going to the Chabot club for the past 6 months and considering becoming a member. Let me know. Thanks.

I have a question about Appleseed at Chabot. I'm considering taking one or both of my nephews to their first Appleseed. They are 11 and 13. Can I be their guardian for the day at the Chabot range, or does a parent need to be present? They are respectful and listen well.

Thanks,

-John

If they are responsible and safe, they are welcome. If you aren't their parent or guardian, we'd request they bring a note giving permission, from either parent.

Thanks, PurplePeople. I'll do that.

Ed;

Well, we're in the Appleseed forum. I assume we're talking about Appleseed. I could be wrong, though.

Yep. This thread is about the upcoming Appleseed event at Chabot on June 16 and 17.

If you are not familiar with Project Appleseed, check them out here: http://appleseedinfo.org/

PurplePeople, am I correct in assuming that if the tickets are showing as "Sold Out" on the website, the additional slots that you released have filled up? I (and possibly my girlfriend) would definitely be interested in attending the June session at Chabot.

Yikes, that went fast. I'm afraid it's sold out again. When we get closer to the date I'll check the registrations and post here if it looks like there's a chance of taking walk-on shooters on either day.

Unfortunately my two daughters have to work that weekend so there are going to be two spots open.

There is still room available at the Sacramento Appleseed June 23-24.

Temperatures are forecast to be in the low 80's which will be a real treat for this time of year.

We had 98 degrees on Saturday for the Chabot shoot, leading to a significant number of no-shows. So this may be one of the few times when the Sacto shoot is cooler than Castro Valley.

Open hand support arm, stock raised off my shoulder, not squared up to target, no cartwheels or somersaults and the infamous chicken wing, Chris Costa just took away my DVD remote. ;)

Refreshing to see an alternative view on procedure and judge for yourself.

Yes, the Chabot June shoot was hot, but thanks to the dilligence of the Shoot Boss and the Instructors, no one went without hydration and most of the instruction was done under the cover. As always; Safety First.
My second Appleseed, but my families first, and everyone had a great time. The instructional sessions were thorough, and the heritage portions intreging. Who would have thought to put this combo together, but it works.
And now we are all better marksmen (markswomen?) and have a greater appreciation for our proud heritage.
Thank you all for putting this on for us; whether you hear it or not, we really appreciate the effort you put into the program.
thanks again,
the Winship family

ps. I only found out through Appleseed that my relatives, Adam Winship and Thomas Winship were among the first to die in the fight.

It was good fun - despite the heat.
Though next time I will take a thicker ground cover (or a rake to clear the old brass)
and better quality ammunition (my daughter had consumed my supply, and couldn't get any more for that weekend), I had numerous failure to fires - due to the weapon getting so dirty.

Is there an even at Chabot in August?

Yes, but it's sold out. There are spaces available for the October event. (On the good side, we will have at least one other Bay Area range running next year.)

OK no sweat I want to get in line for October then! This will give me some time to get my tech sights installed on my 795, and find a sling and mags!

I have yet to even fire it since I bought it last year :(
