I picking up my 17s next week and want to mount my Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10 on it and wondered if any SCAR owners can recommend a mount for it.

TIA

worthless post...

Consider something you can either mount far enough back to clear the CH, or something you can mount backwards

A number of companies are making angled SCAR charging handles in order to avoid the knuckle hamburger.

I've been looking for something for my 16s as well. I was hoping to find a high quality scope mount that you could reverse the levers on but sadly there really isn't any.

You can't go wrong with Larue, Bobro or American Defense. If money was no object, I'd go with the bobro. Tends to not mar up the rail like some of the others. But as Plink said above, be sure it's high enough to clear the rear folding sight.

Some owners use a standard Larue LT-104 and mount it backwards so that the latches do not interfere with the charging handle.

How is this helpful at all? Sell the 4 Spike's AR's and buy 6 AK's.

I use a Bobro E mount for a NF 2.5-10x32 scope on my 17.

Ok thanks guys. Will call Larue Monday and see which mount they suggest for the Vortex scope I have that will clear the rear sights on the SCAR.

I'm on their website and don't see an "E" mount. Are you referring to the 30mm extended mount?

This is a picture of my old scar. I sold the Larue mount because I had a major issue with it. Every time you remove it and put it back on it leaves a small dent under the picatinny rail. After many uses the small dents turn into a big one and then the mount doesn’t hold zero. The Bobro mount is great but weighs a ton plus its expensive. After much research I bought the Weaver mount and couldn’t be happier. Its very light, very solid and holds zero. I'm running the same scope you have and there are no issues with the rear flip up sight. Here is a picture to help you plus a link to where you can get one

The weaver is fine for a lefty setup as pictured, but for a righty the charging handle looks like it would catch easily on the mount if not your fingers or knuckles anyways

I use ARMS throw levers and have my optic way in the back, doesn't get in the way
