View Full Version : Where to start for AR 20" gas piston build?

With prices spiking and the registry starting next year I'd like to build something similar to an M16A4 (20" barrel) BUT with a gas piston.

Can someone recommend a top-of-the-line company where I can purchase all of these parts over time, beginning with a lower only? I was looking at LMT but I don't see a 20" gas piston option. Thanks in advance.

Palmetto State Armory (http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/rifle-kits.html) or any vendors on this site can help you out with a 20" A4 style upper. complete kits minus receiver or seperate parts.
best to buy the upper as a standard DI rifle and later add a Adams Arms rifle length gas piston to it later.
right now seems to be buying frenzy and parts are in short supply with most vendors. be patient.

Anyone have input on this? I have been considering a 20" build, and a gas piston build...why not a 20" gas piston build?

The long gun registration starts on Jan. 1 2014, not 2013. FYI.
