Ok so first off thanks to this site. All the info here was a big help!

This is my first AR build!! Started with a rifle gear complete lower with a geissele trigger. While not a great bench trigger it's what I was after for a hunting rig.

Searching for a custom upper was interesting. With most builders quoting super long lead times for the 204 ruger upper that I wanted. Stumbled onto Dan Carey's website and after a couple phone calls I sent the man a check.

Dans service was great and he answered more then a few semi retarded questions. With RRA or places like dtech quoting huge lead times it was great to have my upper in less than a month. Thanks Dan!!!

For optics I went with a Swarovski 3x10 got a insane deal on it. Mounted on a Burris mount.

Blah blah here is the gun porn. Was hot as hell and windy at my shooting spot so I expect that made the groups a lil big. A calm day and a better rest will help a lot.

Nice, how much did the upper cost you?

100 yards......considering I'm a crap shot with a gusty cross wind shooting Fiocchi 28$ for 50 ammo, it's pretty good :)

Your mount doesn't do your glass justice...

Ummmm because a 200$ mount will hold the scope even more still then not moving at all? I know I loose some points in the cool factor game but since I don't remove the glass off the gun what's the up side?

Carey's prices are posted on his site.

Nice, as far as scope mount, it is just pref., if it doesn't bother you & you are happy with it, that's it. (my two cents).

Burris makes good scope mounts...and they also make them with QD levers (in which I have and prefer) Im looking at the opposite side of the rifle...does it have QD levers or the standard screws?
