I am in East Bay, are there any good places to buy decent safes? Are they something one should buy in a local store? Or online and delivered? Or...?
I don't need something huge, enough for a handgun and rifle at some point, plus few small things I am sure.

Thanks.

Look at the thread about the Costco Bighorn group buy.
Go to http://www.bulldogtuffsafes.com or http://cesafes.com.
I have talked to the owners of both companies and they will point you in the right direction with a good price. I'm not affiliated with either company...

As mentioned above, check out my thread, "Costco safes to be on sale soon." I've posted a lot of good info on there. But sounds like you might need something like the bighorn 19ECB which should go on sale on Costco.com on June 14th. This safe is on the smaller size but if you research the stats, it should offer you great protection. Or contact the two companies mentioned on the thread and ask them what they have to offer.

Walmart.com does 97 cents freight shipping and has decent prices on DOJ approved safes.

Spoke to Danny from bull dog tuff safes about the bighorn 19ECB for you. He said he can get them but he would not be able to compete with the Costco sale coming in June. Should go For around $500 with free shipping. Great stats for an inexpensive safe.

I bought my last safe from a medical marijuana operation that was shut down from the Feds. Very cheap. Just keep looking at Craigslist and talk to other folks. A friend of mine bought a huge safe from an old Macy's that was being torn down.

I have an AMSEC dealer in my neighborhood that runs his business out of his house, and he gives the savings from not renting a shop along to his customers. I got $200-300 off of a TF6032 below the cheapest place I have found. If anybody in Butte County is looking for an AMSEC, please PM me and I will give you his number.
