I am looking seriously at adding a Sig M400 carbine to my arsenal. I'd sincerely appreciate any feedback from folks who have actually handled, bought, and shot this particular carbine.

Commentary based on practical application and use of this rifle will help me decide whether to pick one up.

Thank you!

It is like $1k right...For $150 more I would get a Colt.

However, the Sig 716 is priced right.

The Sig m400/516/716 and 551 are the only rifles I'm looking for in the future. The m400 looks really neat. Wouldn't mind a colt.

I would rather get a COLT 6929CA (M4 Carbine rollmark, sick!). $1099 at Proforce...!!!

But from what I heard the M400 isn't too bad... Its just an AR that isn't talked about too much... their pistols... all day long.

OK how about input from someone who HAS one rather than what you would rather have or what you heard is better....

I picked up an M400 from Riflegear last November for $859. The price has since gone up. It was an impulse buy, but I have no regrets. Great rifle IMO. I've only taken it out to the range once and put 100 rounds through it at 25 yards (indoor range). No malfunctions and nice tight groupings. Planning to make a trip to the outdoor range soon.

It came with an ambi mag release that was removed when they installed the bullet button, but I can reinstall it outside of CA. ;)

I chose the Colt over the M400, but my first impulse was to buy the M400 then Colt announced their Cali compliant carbine and I went this route. If a couple of hundred dollars makes or breaks the deal than definitely get the M400.
