View Full Version : Stack-On Safe

I'm shopping for a gun safe and have heard mixed reviews about Stack-On. Basically, I get the vibe that it's not the best, but not the worst, either. I recently learned that the company I work for has a spare new one in its warehouse-- a Total Defense Model #TD-28-SB-E. It can hold 14 long guns with shelves or 28 long guns without, and weighs 530 lbs. To make space, they're selling it for $299 (it's around $1,100 online).

I know this sounds like a no-brainer, but I'm not made of money, and if I get a dog with fleas, that's $300 I'm out.

Has anyone had any experience with the Stack-On, and if so, what are your thoughts?

NONE of the popular safes will keep out a determined criminal, so don't get too worried about "best" vs. "worst". Stack-on is fine for keeping out kids, guests, neighbors, and the typical smash and grab thief so I would get it. The price is awesome as similar safes go for double that.
