Thanks for the suggestion but I don't like forend grips. They don't feel right to me.

I'm looking for a collapseable bipod.

That is a NICE looking MP/22.....Since I can't keep track of the CA laws.....are the compensators/hiders/supressors legal on a rimfire? And how did you get the bbl darkened? The MP15-22s I've seen down here in LALA land have shiny bbls (stainless?) and nothing on the muzzle of the barrel. Also, is the handguard S&W OE?

Again, nice looking rig.

My M&P doesnt have the flash hider either, and the bbl comes like that (or at least mine does lol)

Looks great. How much have you spent (if you don't mind me asking)

I got the "UTG Tactical OP Bipod" on Amazon.com - the legs are a bit short if using the longer 30 round magazines but they have a taller one available. I paid about $30

Thanks!
Haven't spent too much considering...

Paid about $550 including DROS and tax for the M&P 15-22
Barrel threading and A2 compensator $85
StrikeFire red dot optic $150
Magpul CTR $75

I figure it's a somewhat inexpensive hobby - my wife doesn't mind and also likes to shoot it on occasion :)

Thank you!
A compensator is legal on a rim fire, although as far as I know, flash supressors are forbiden.

The barrel is stock from the factory - never seen a stainless on a 15-22

Handguard is also stock from the factory

The Evil Features stuff only applies to centerfire rifles, rimfire rifles are exempt. Flash hiders are perfectly legal on a rimfire rifle, along with pistol grip, collapsible stock, forward grip, etc., all with detachable mags.

Pistol laws are different though, rimfire is NOT exempt from the pistol evil feature list. Isn't CA great?

I see you're in S.F. like me. I'm waiting to pick my 15-22 up and wanted to get the barrel threaded also. Where did you get yours done?

Thanks for the info, I am still trying to figure out what the CA Complaint S&WMP15-22 is so "compliant", other than the bare muzzle. I see they offer a model with an A2 hider/comp, but not in CA I guess.

I sent my upper to JP Grips (www.jpgrips.com) to have it threaded and an A2 compensator installed. It was a little unfder $100 for everything including return shipping

I was hoping for something local, but thanks. I guess it's definitely an option. You just sent your upper?

Ask and ye shall receive.

I've got one of these on my 10/22. Bought it originally for my M&P 15-22, but like the man said - it's too short for the long magazines.

Incidentally, I would recommend this product unreservedly, quality-wise. Only thing I've seen made by UTG / Leapers that I can say that about.

I'll pick one up as soon as I pay off my Calguns Foundation tab....thanks for the review!
