How much is the Ak variant worth? With original milled receiver and wood thumbhole stock.

Roughly?

There is no "grey" if it's listed, it's listed, if it isn't, it isn't.

The NHM-91 (stamped receiver RPK clone) is listed. The MAK-91 is not, as it was rare and not too well known about. I've got both. The MAK-91 was hyped as being built to national match specs with a heavy air gauged barrel. Some had nice markings on the receiver & others had them crudely electro penciled. Most have the bayonet lug & barrel threads ground off, as was required by Bush #1. To get a current value, check out what they sell for on Gunbroker.

Back when they came out the retail was around $500-$600 for the MAK-91, when the NHM-91 was around $450 & plain MAK-90s were around $300. This was in the early to mid 1990's. Clinton shut off the Chinese imports around 1993/4, but the shipments trickled in a bit after due to lawsuits on approved form 6s before the cut off date. If anyone has one, replace the original bipod (drive the pin out of the barrel clamp part) with the later ones you can get for around $15-$20. The original bipods didn't have detents for the leg adjustment screws. The later ones do or have spring loaded latches. A much better design.

The question is "what will you take for it?"

I remember the MAK-91 surprised it didn't make the list! It comes default with a thumb hole stock... Quality is likely to vary as it does with other Norinco guns

If your Norinco is stamped "AK-47" on the receiver then yes, it means it's listed. "RAW" means "registered" assault weapon, as in the owner registered it with the DOJ.

Oh Yeah, bought my Mak-90 at B&B for $179 also, the. Got some original capacity mags for I think $10 and two 75 round drums for $30 ish dollars.

All while working a part time job. Then I bought a 1,000 non corrosive ammo for $79 dollars.

Shot the rifle a few days later at the Kentucky range- the rifle ran like Butta!

Those where the days!!!

$650 is a damn good deal. These seem to be going for $800-1K on the auction sites.

Personally I'd rather have an arsenal or VEPR for that kind of money, but rarity does come with bragging rights.

I had a MAK90 back in the day also. I probably should have kept it, but the build quality (and accuracy) of mine was dismal. The MAK91 is a much nicer build- maybe my 90 was built on a Friday?
