I ditched my Stag 2HT upper a while back when I decided that what I really wanted was a full length rail and low profile gas block. Today a Riflegear.com 16" CHF MCTAR-22 upper assembly came in the mail. I threw on a BCM Mod.4 charging handle and a set of MBUIS in FDE. The rest of my rifle is at home so I'll have to wait until I get off of work until I can put the whole thing together and get my XTM panels set up and my RVG positioning sorted.

I will post more pics tonight or tomorrow after I get it all set up. Next thing to purchase is an Aimpoint PRO and Harris bipod.

Very nice. Congrats. Are you planning on doing a FDE? Or are the Magpul BUIS just because.

I actually have a Smith & Wesson M&P-15 lower already fully built with a Magpul MIAD and CTR, both in FDE, as well as a pinned 10/30 PMAG in FDE. Also I have a mix of XTM panels in black and FDE that I like to alternate along the side of the rail. So yeah, I kinda have an FDE thing going on.

Here is a ****ty webcam pic of my rifle all built up. The NCStar is temporary until I can afford a PRO.

Well I know it weighs more than my rifle did before with the Stag 2HT upper. With the Stag it was about 8 lbs unloaded. I'm guessing this setup may be about 9 lbs or so. With the scope, the RDS on an angled mount, the flashlight, the vertical grip, and a full mag it is quite heavy.

I'll try to weigh it soon, but the hanging scale is at work and some might think that it is a bit weird if I brought my rifle into a bike store...

All right, here are some slightly better pics. There wasn't any light outside by the time I got home so I had to use crappy indoor pics.

And yes I know that the NCStar is a piece of poo. I don't use it at the range, I just have it on there when the gun is at home.

Awesome setup. I was actually looking to go something along that setup as well.

I definitely recommend the Riflegear.com upper assemblies. Probably the best-priced option for a full-length rail upper available. I only wish that it wasn't so expensive to get their 14.5" upper with a pinned muzzle brake, otherwise I would have gone that route.

Well in a few paychecks hopefully I'll have either a PRO or Micro T1. In the meantime I prefer having an optic on the rifle when I have it out at home, leaning up by my bed at night. I'm sure it can survive enough shots to put an intruder down.

Is it just me or are the reciever and the barrel and rails differant colors?

I've got the Pro, you'll love it.

There was a dab of oil on the receiver and I smeared it around, so it's making it look darker than is it. They're both the same basic AR-15 color.
