Ok so I am going to be buying a Saiga from my best friend.
Never been fired, 5.45x39, $300

I got a couple questions

1. Can the 5.45 take AK mags without modification?
2. What can I add to it without having to get a BB?

the gun is 100% stock at the moment.

if the gun runs flawless thats a good buy...i think must haves as most people would recommend is a 2point sling and probably a railed forend if u need to attach a weapon light/accessories

congrats!

you can add anything except a flash hider pistol grip forward pistol grip collapsible and/or folding stock. I think those are all the evil features. I dont remember well this late at night.

That's a great deal.

1. No, you will need a bullet guide and you will have to change out to U.S. made parts to make it 922r compliant (in order to be able to accept high capacity magazines).

2. You can do anything as long as it doesn't involve one of the following
-pistol grip
-thumbhole stock
-forward pistol grip
-folding/telescoping stock
-grenade/flare launcher

Add any of the above and the gun must have a bullet button to stay out of AW territory.

^^ There you go... If you don't want it I'll take it. ;)

I dont need High cap mags, just more mags and they seem to be pretty difficult to find in 545.

So I can add wood furniture or a railed forend with a laser or flashlight ect... and no need for BB? AWESOME

That's a very good price. I'd jump on it. Just finished doing the conversion on my 5.45x 39 and took it out and shot it today. Ran like a Swiss watch. I've got a 7.62x39 also. Both are great guns. The 5.45 has minimal recoil. 10 round mags seem to be scarce. I just ordered some form Carolina Shooter supply. Waiting for them now.

I've found the 10 rnd Tapco 5.45 mags at MidwayUSA and Carolina Shooters Supply. They worked fine without a bullet-guide, but I installed one to ensure reliable feeding.

I recently sold my Saiga and have 2 (10-round) surefire saiga mags for sale in the For Sale section if anyone's interested. Fits 5.45.
