Which rings for my lr308 build with vortex viper 5-15x42mm scope? I dont want a couple hundred dollar rings just nice ones to do the job? What about one piece rings? Suggestions?
Thanks

I just put the Burris AR-P.E.P.R mount on my 308

+1
they give another set of top halfs with no rail.
Burris also makes these

there are different heights.

Do you find that these are high enough?? I seem to like the high or extra high rings.

there is a formula on how to pick the right height.
i cheat and use something that 3/4 thick and lay two pieces on the scope rail and lay the scope on top of that. two people is easiest.
then decide from there. make sure you look at the specs of the scope mounts. they usually give the height. i usually look at the midway site.

I was on a budget after spend a bundle on the rings, I purchased some SWFA rings which seem to be the same as the Burris ones... I can't complain and I believe I went with the Mediums on my 308 AR low rail. I have a 50mm objective so I had to mill a little off my rail to get the scope to fit with the caps. I wanted the the scope as low as possible is why.

I used the Nikon M-223 one piece scope mount and love it. This one has 20 MOA built in. I like the one piece units and don't see a reason to go back to scope rings. Check out the Burris models as well.

This is a 4-12 x 42mm Redfield Scope with a P.E.P.R. mount on my LR308.
