View Full Version : Trade SA m1a scout for Bushy ACR

Wanted to get your feedback should I trade my sage scout for an acr? My sage scout is a safe queen and only has 200rds through her. I upgraded most of the internal parts with sadlak parts.

It is really up to you. I've always had an interest to own an ACR and make it as close as I can to the Masada but being in PRK I doubt that could happen. I don't have any safe queens tools so if I were you I would run that ACR through some classes and spit out over 5K rounds through that puppy. :)

So true. I mainly run my BCM but always had an interest in the acr platform. Got the scout for the 308 rd and the featureless factor since we're in PRK...

With the prices of 308 ammo I think going to the ACR would be a lot more fun. Plus you get to adapt to a new platform and work on being proficient at it. You never know, if you work hard enough on the ACR you could be the Jedi-Master in ACR manipulations and be a rockstar on youtube. ;)

I wouldn't. Was not happy with the ACR's I have handled/shot.

I wouldn't, The M1a is awesome, especially the scout.

I absolutely love my M1A Scout. It's not the most accurate gun in the world, but it's probably the most fun rifle I own.

I would

go for the ACR. I'm going to put $ down on the Enhanced in black tomorrow. cheap plastic? eh, who cares--my money, my problem.

Keep the EBR. Shoot it more, you will change your mind

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I'm going to shoot my ebr this today at asr to make up my mind. Most all of my gear is toward the ar platform since that is what I grew up with. Yes I'm a DI guy trying to nibble my way to a Piston. Too funny.

Tough question. I would not trade my SOCOM for an ACR.

Same here.

ACR is a nice rifle but its really hard to enjoy one here in CA.

Keep the M1a and save up for a used ACR.

It depends on what your goal is.

The M1A is a perfect rifle for “longer range” marksmanship training and keeping sharp. If you can shoot it well at 300-400 yds with irons, and 600+ yds with a scope then I suppose it could get boring.

If you’re just looking for something “cooler” then you’ll get bored with the ACR eventually and want something different later on. Most people I know who sold their M1A’s for the latest & greatest (AR10, ACR, SCAR, etc.) eventually rebought an M1A.

IMHO the only reason to sell an M1A would be to upgrade to a Nation Match. A less expensive option would be to upgrade the rear sites on the scout to NM.

Yeah I agree with gentlemens about even trading my socom2 for one. They're sexy *** hell

Trading a M1A for an ACR is crazy talk! The ACR is an overpriced plastic AR. The M1A (especially the Socom II) is one BAMF.

Many thx for all your thoughts about this subject. I'm going to keep the scout. Shot about 150 rds yesterday from 100 to 600yrds and it was a blast.

Good choice on keeping the Scout, especially here in CA.
