I won two .22 military trainers today at an on-line auction, including this MAS 45

Description advised:
French MAS Model 45 Bolt Action Rifle, #F28380, .22 cal., 24'' barrel, parkerized finish, European walnut stock, with MAS Banner on receiver ring. Condition is excellent showing little to no use. MAS marked bright buttplate. Action is crisp, bore is bright. One factory magazine included. Lightly import marked.

The Enfield and MAS trainers finally arrived today and I snapped a few pics at my FFL's before they went into his safe for the obligatory 10 day "cooling off " period.

They are both in great shape...the MAS still has enough cosmoline in it to make the "unfired" plausible.

Great looking guns! Cosmoline was used before the gun was placed in storage, thus it has no bearing on the newness of the gun. Example- thousands of Garands were dunked in Cosmo after the Korean war and are now for sale through the CMP still covered.

Congrats, it's a nice little rifle. A bit heavy for a field rifle but, a lot of fun to shoot.
You're gonna like it - but getting all that cosmoline off is really going to suck.
Mine was still wrapped in wax paper and covered in cosmoline when I found it in Mountain View.
Here's a couple of quick pics I'd taken just prior to the clean-up.
