April 22, 2007

Authored by Chuck Michel (http://trutanichmichel.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=10), Managing Partner at Trutanich-Michel, LLP (http://tmllp.com) (NRA's primary Second Amendment legal firm in the Golden State), this concise article discusses how cities that have passed legislation dependant on the recording of ammo sales transactions have misinterpreted the very research they relied on during passage!

Originated in Los Angeles, this mistake has permeated to other government entities, most recently Sacramento, which is currently considering a similar ordinance (see http://calnra.com/legs.shtml?summary=sacammosales&year=2007) and the state legislature in proposing AB 362 (see http://calnra.com/legs.shtml?summary=ab362&year=2007).

Please note that AB 362 will appear before the Assembly Appropriations Committee on Tuesday, April 24th, 2007. Sacramento is expected to next consider their ordinance on May 15, 2007 (see http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showpost.php?p=573148&postcount=17) ONE-CLICK service has been established for these and other firearms-related issues at:
