I found a good deal on this gun and need opinions. I had a Sig P226 in .40 great shooter and never had a FTE, FTF but the slide never locked to the rear on the last shot. I shot other P226 and never had that problem I also shot the P229 and P220 also never had that problem. Enough about that issue.

I found a good deal on the SP2022 and just want opinions about the gun. Accuracy, reliability, trigger and overall opinion of the gun.

You should get one if you're a sig fan or new shooter. I persoanlly think the gun is great, the only complaint I have that my .40 sig pro doesn't pick a round from the mag when I have a mounted light on it. I started a thread about it few months back, I haven't heard anyone else having the same issue but me.

Thing is, sig didnt do a dang thing about it. So my word of advice, get the 9mm, if you do want the .40, there is a chance that it wont functional well with a tac-light.

i've never had the said problem from above. mine is a 9mm and a great shooter..best bang for the buck for sure. has a great trigger pull (i like it more than my p229) and is very accurate. the only problem i have with it is on the last round, the slide doesn't lock back. could be me, or it could be the mag spring. other than that, again, great gun for the money. in my opinion, they could be selling for more $$$. i got mine from buds gun shop online for $447 w/nite sights and shipping...hope this helps.

It's most likely the sensitive slide release, happens to a lot of people actually.

Try shooting with your left, if it keeps on happening, time to buy a new mag spring.

I like my 2022 but it is #3 after my 226 and 220.

Its a nice gun for sure but its no P2xx series.

BTW I don't know what you consider a good deal, but I've seen them new for $350, defiantly worth the price. Check the for accessories sale section here, Sig pro 9mm/40/357 mags for $15 ea, smokin deal.

This is a gun that gets brought up here several times a month. Threads on this gun come up almost as frequently as the "What should I buy for my first handgun?" or "Where can I shoot in the desert?" threads. Its almost the unofficial gun of Calguns. Very favorable overall, check out just some of the threads:

I have one myself and I think its great, for the money.

When I first shot the SP2022, I rode the slide release. After adjusting my grip and some patience, it was fine. I don't think anyone disagrees that the SP2022 is a very nice gun.

I'm enjoying mine as it's my first handgun, but not my first firearm. There's a kot of reviews here on calguns and other foruns. Just google search sp2022 reviews and

I have the .40 and love it. It was one of my first guns and is still one of my favorites to shoot.

The SP2022 is a great gun. I couldn't be more happy with mine. Great trigger pull, accurate, no FTE/FTF. You will love this pistol. Extremely underrated for the price.

I did have issues finding 10 round mags, but was able to get a deal off of a fellow CalGunner. People say the 2340 mags will feed 9mm, but I haven't tried it personally.

Congrats on the possible purchase :)

Sig SP2022 is a great gun for the money of course. It's not the p-series of Sigs, but it is not a sub par.
True enough, I would get the p-series if I had the money but I'm not disappointed.

Underrated, right cost, accurate, reliable, Sig Sauer = perfect:D

just got a 2022 in 9m and love it.. defintely still getting use to the DA/SA feel of it since its my first DA/SA gun.

Has run flawless and made me want to get another sig... now awaiting a 229R to be in my collection soon.

Use the search OP. There are so many on this pistol it makes my head spin. I'm a sig guy and I love the Sig Pro. Good pistol. It is basically a poly P series, and it is worth it. It depends on if you like DA/SA, I love it but some dont.

Only thing I didnt like about the Sig Pro was lack of aftermarket support for the FCU's to do DAO. Then again I'd prefer if they made a DAK model just for collection value.

I just bought mine a couple months ago. Sent it in Feb 16th and hopefully today I will be picking it up from Turners. Supposedly they replaced the extractor, but I havent got mine back yet. If I could go back, I am not sure if I would have bought this gun. Maybe would have saved up for a 226 or 229. Also since then I picked up my FNP 40 which is awesome. I would take my fnp40 over my 2022 IMO. Sig is just lagging on me

People say the 2340 mags will feed 9mm, but I haven't tried it personally.

I haven't broken out the calipers but the mags are exactly the same, including the width of the feed lips, the follower is a tiny bit different. I have manually fed ammo and its been flawless, I'm going shooting Friday but i'm so confident they will feed properly i ordered 3 more mags. Ill get some pics.

I have one, good gun...especially for a first timer. Accurate, slide always locks back, ergonomic, etc. Only had one FTF and it was narrowed down to me limp-wristing lol. Actually selling mine tomorrow because I never have time to shoot it, but if I ever get back into handguns I'd definitely consider one again. Oh, and the trigger is awesome (in my limited experience). I prefer it to the Glock, Xd, or USP stock triggers.

I put a 9mm P2022 in jail yesterday.
Turners has them advertised for $419.98 - with a Sig laser attachment ($129 list).
I couldn't pass it up, I've been looking in the Calgunners WTS/WTT for a couple of months for a reasonably priced one, but as soon as they come up-they're gone.

Accuracy, is great, but it also depends on the shooter. Reliability is not doubt awesome, its a SIG. If you are happy with SIG triggers then you will be happier with this one. Overall its underrated, great pistol for what it cost. Best bang for your buck...Go 9mm. Rent, Try, and BUY!

2340 mag works, tried it last weekend. Feed and shot fine. One instance of slide not locking back on empty mag but not expecting it to run flawless for the price

Its usually just due to grip interference. The slide lock is long IMO and if you ride the grips a wee bit too high and r hand interferes a bit it will fail to lock open.

As for the gun, amazing handgun o little price. I think it shoots the same as my 226. That's just my opinion. Accurate and dependable. Never any issues to date.
