Hi, I am preparing to aquire a CZ82 pistol, via PPT at an 01 FFL. I have a C&R and a COE. The pistol is not over 50 years old, but it IS on the federal C&R list. Since this transaction is being done at an 01 FFL does this gun still qualify for the 10 day wait period exemption with my C&R and COE?

With your C&R and COE you do not need to wait the 10 days. The 50 year old rule only applies to long guns being shipped directly to you. Example, an 1967 Albanian SKS would need to be shipped to an 01 FFL to be DROS'd but an 1950 Russian SKS would not. Handguns, of course, always need to be shipped to an 01 FFL to be DROS'd but since you have both your C&R and COE you are exempt from the 10 day wait because it is a C&R firearm. Make sure your 01 FFL is aware of this exemption, some are not. It is a good idea to find a 01 FFL that deals with C&R firearms regularly. It does no good to argue with an 01 FFL that does not care to know the regulations concerning C&R firearms. It is his license and he can make you wait the 10 days if he sees fit.
