What do you think of this? Ever seen or heard of one before? What is it? What do you think it is worth?

They are very well made Nagants. They were called the model 1887. Obviously not as common as the Soviet Nagants so they are worth much more. Probably in the range of $150 to $400. The revolver in the photos in in poor condition so it's probably worth only around $150. They were imported in the 60's. See the add below.

I have one in another country.

Also, I messed up the shelf on the hammer (that catches on to enable double-action) from dry firing it too much. Still works in single action. Too bad it's in Mexico and I have never been able to shoot it. I find it to be nicer looking than the 1895 Nagant, though it does not do the gap closing thingy, so no Brammit device for this one.

:hide:

I was younger and dumber--or that Swedish steel isn't all that its made out to be...

The holster has a crown stamped into it; same kind of crown you find on an M-96.

That's the rest of my Mexican cache. Grandpa hunted ducks down there in Sinaloa; he wasn't a guide, but he would hunt with a lot of American clients back in the day.

(Ok, sorry for the off-topic)

That's really cool. I can see that as being a good sidearm for helping with small game hunts. Probably good for the occasional run in with a snake too.

Yeah, just gotta find 7.5x22R.

The only other person on this board who has one is CSACannoneer. Sucks that I don't have mine with me and its in another country.
