Some guy at work has one and wants to sell it. never been used at all. its a 3-7 x 32 or 40. Doesnt say on it. if i can get it cheap is it worth it? or should i just stay away period? its not my ideal scope, but if i can get it cheap i may be okay with it for a while. it would be going on an AR-15.

thanks!

Yes Redfield scopes are a quality brand name.

Google the Make and model and see what they are selling for to get an idea if its worth what he wants.

IMHO that could be a good scope for an AR platform but i'm not an expert on the AR platform wait for Bill or Ted to chime in. They both know a lot more about the AR platform than I.

I have noticed in the 90's the Redfield scope was used by police quite a bit.

They are now owned by Meade Instruments which owns Simmons and Weaver scopes also and Redfield is supposed to be their highest quality line.

Redfield is one of the older US scope makers

I have a 1970's vintage US made Redfield 3200 in 24 power mounted on a Martini 22 Hornet. It is a fantastic scope.

anybody have any experiance with Millett Scopes? I did a search, one guy has one on an AK but no mention of how it was. I'm looking for a compact scope for my AR. I like the ACOG, but i had some eye surgery done, so i need something with more then 4x. Yet i would like something compact. heres a link to one i found.

The Redfield LE-9 (LE9, Law Enforcement 9) is a great scope. It's the only Redfield that I've used. It has a really cool reticle made for tactical .308s.

I believe it's a 3x9x50

Redfield Accu-Range scopes were on the M40 used by Marine snipers during Vietnam if that tells you anything. Never used one myself though.

Picked up a 4X years ago at a garage sale specifically for use on one of my junker .22's........ turned out to be such a nice/good/quality scope I put her on my 'prime' hunting rifle instead of the crap Bushnell that sat atop for 5 years.

Aint my lightest scope but definitely built like a Brick-Outhouse:D

Best part............. $5.00:D

yep...my dad was a 1-5 Marine sniper in Vietnam in 67-68'. He said some of their rifles had redfields on them. They carried Winchester Model70's in 30-06'...
