Now I just need to decide on an optic,
Aim point comp m4 http://img.tapatalk.com/aefe3a18-806e-04e5.jpg
Or eotech?

What do you guys think?

I like the looks of the EOTechs. But performance wise I love my Aimpoint. So for functionality sake, I'd go with the comp.

Yes.

And beautiful rifle by the way. My Mini is my wallet's version of M1A.

(I still love you Mini, I do.)

Nice, I went with an eotech on mine. I'm gonna swap it with a trijicon Accupoint as soon as I find a good deal on one though.

EOTech will add more weight to your rifle than the aimpoint or Trijicon... and the SOCOM II is already quite a heavy beast.

Nice shoes btw :)!

Thanks, I love my work shoes lol. I'm pretty sure my comp m4 is heavier then my eotech. I'll double check.

Thanks everyone for the compliments!

They are both way too high IMO for the II. I tried the eotech & never could like it. (that is on my wife's lmt mrp now and works great there)

I went with a c3 and low rings. The bottom of the aimpoint almost touches the top of the rail. If you need an M model they can be mounted with the low rings too.

My 2cent.

If you want a good cheek weld, Your gonna need a cheek riser for the eotech or any other optic that sits higher than the iron sights.

They are real front heavy, If you just take the bottom rail off, it makes it noticibly lighter.

Yes this thing is a heavy beast! Both scopes are a tad to high and I have a riser on order. We will see how it pans out...

Riser? I think you will be way happier if you trade that M4 for an M3 with low rings. It should sit almost a half inch lower than the eotech. A huge change on that rifle IMO.

I like the look of the aimpoint, just personal preference. The eotech looks better suited for the AR platform

Aimpoint. They also have a picatinny specific low mount for the M version optics. The weaver works fine for me.

Not a fan of the rails on the II, prefer the feel of the 16... but it still shoots the same. Congrats on a fine firearm.

This was not a choice I had, a co worker was selling really cheap and I could not pass it up.
