Picking up my DPMS LR-308 with 24" stainless heavy barrel on Sunday, and I want to replace the gas block with a low profile unit so I can hide it under a JP extra long handguard. No need for iron sights on this beast. Is it easy to replace the gas block? Never done it.Any tips/tricks? Thanx guys.

I used a low-profile gas block from Troy Industries
I also have a DPMS 24" S/S barrel. If you have the exact same model, the barrel has two locating dimples for the gas block to mount. Very straight forward install.

Yes very easy.
Just attached with 2 allen head screws (which may have locktite on them, but mine did not have locktite).
Loosen screws, slide off barrel. Gas tube will be attached to the block.
Drive the roll pin out of the block to release the gas tube.
