My moderates searches have came with no answers so far, so I ask. Im wondering if it is legal to conceal a fixed blade weapon in my vehicle? Its not on my person, but it sure as hell would be accessible to me.

Google of "California Knife Laws" returned lots of websites, including:

And, acknowledging the general expertise level of LEOs, I was told in a class by a Concord PD sergeant that in-vehicle concealed fixed-blades were not illegal. Don't wave one at Officer Friendly during a traffic stop, he/she might become a bit concerned.

The relevant section of 12020 is:

(4) Carries concealed upon his or her person any dirk or dagger.

So, technically it would be just fine to carry the knife in your car. However depending on the circumstances, the cop and/or DA could construe it otherwise.. YMMV
