Good friend of mine is an FFL and carries about 15 lines of firearms in Nor Cal. He is adding LWRC to his lineup. He and I just enjoyed lunch with the LWRC rep and put in the store's initial order. He ordered the M6A2SPR in tan for himself, 3 M6A2 standards for inventory and the M6A3 18" DMR in OD Green for myself. This is my first AR so I am looking forward to it. Hell, I've never even shot one before, LOL. All of my semi- auto shooting to date (other than rim fire) has been with my NM M1A or my Mini-14.

Any suggestions for a good optic for my new shooter?

And for the mount, I'd go with Bobro, i personally think it's the cream of the crop of current Quick Detach mounts...

Well excepting the new GDI P-Rom... but that's $500... not really necessary for that rifle.

Wait wha? A nightforce? Really? Look I don't know much money you have to play with but unless you plan on doing some major shooting as an operator or some kind on professional shooter I would not get a Night Force. There are plenty of other brand names (Weaver, Leupold, Vortex) that make a great scope for have the price of that a NF. Look around the sales thread and see what you can find. What kind of shooting you are going to be doing? Maybe a NF aint what you need. Maybe an Aimpoint or Eotech or shoot if you got the cash a ACOG. Just don't go flying off to buy the biggest brand name just to end up selling it here for lower then what you paid for it. My two cents :D

Dang, again? Whats wrong with a Larue or American Defense mount? You're going to break this guys bank account with your choices. :oji:

I like ADM mounts, and it's hard to tell you what kind of optic to get without knowing what you plan on using the rifle for. Bench I'm guessing?

Larue mounts aren't much cheaper than Bobro.

Very nice choice man! My M6A2 is the best AR I own. I alternate my optics between an Aimpoint Pro Patrol and a cheesy Redfield.

M6A3 16" is my most accurate AR15 rifle. I have a LEUPOLD MARK AR 6-18X scope on it.

HEHE he bought a $2500 rifle, figured, "What's another $2K?"

Ok Ok, OP go get yourself an SWFA SS 3-9x and a ADM Recon mount and you should be good to go.

If you're looking for closer range optics, get a Vortex 1-4x with an ADM Recon mount.

Thanks for the recommendations. I own an Eotech 512 which is on my Mini-14. I love that sight but the LWRC is gonna reach out farther than the Mini could ever dream. This is why I went ahead with the longer heavy weight barrel. So while I may throw it on the M6A3 for grins, in the long run I know it'll have glass on it. I run Nikon Monarchs on my Remy 700 and the NM M1A. Certainly lots to consider in the $1000 range. Given the quality of the rifle(at least what keep reading) it seems like it would be difficult to over-scope it.

Congrats on the new rifle.

I chose a Vortex PST 4-16x mounted in an ADM Recon mount. IMO, it's an outstanding set up and I recommend it. The Leupold Patrol scopes look good also.

How bout a Leupold Tactical VX-R Patrol with a ADM mount and he spends the rest on ammo fine tuning his rifle. Sorry but I just find it funny that whenever someone asks an optics question in the centerfire forum the first thing someone mentions in Night Force. Freakin Hi·lar·i·ous!

True but not anyone can just up and get a NF scope after that kinda purchase. I would never suggest a NF to anyone as a starter scope. I would recommend to a serious shooter but then again I woud not have to because they would already know. ;)

Well, I went ahead and purchased the Leupold VX-R Patrol along with the Burris PEPR Mount. This will be a fine setup I am thinking for my new LWRC. Now I just have to wait for the darn thing to get here.

Also let's not forget, Larue throws in the armadillo bottle opener and BBQ rub!
