View Full Version : Quick question about AR10 furniture

So im looking for a pistol grip, stock, rail, and mags for an AR10 and most websites I go (magpul for example) says that the item will work for any AR15/M16 type rifle. Will these also work for an AR10? Also Im looking for some Pmags full body/ten round limiter. Do I have to buy the full round capacity mags and convert it to a 10 round limit? Is that to risky?
Specifically the items im looking for are:
Magpul MIAD grip
Magpul ACS Stock
Troy 13" battle rail

grips are interchangeable. there are two different types of 308 ar mags, armalite pattern and dpms pattern.

grips and stocks will interchange. free floating rails use the barrel nut to attach. DPMS and RRA are different. dont know about Armalite.
also if you have to buy a spring and buffer 308 are different.
are you referring to Armalite.
LAR-8-Rock River Arms
you almost have to look at the MFGs website to see what there rails fit.
wait for others to chime in before you buy

Ok so i think im set on the grip and stock then. Just for the record is it a LR 308. So as long as i buy a DPMS style barrel nut I should be set for a rail. Now I know that magpul does not sell a 10 round/full body Pmag so do I have to do the conversion myself?

You need a dpms style rail that should have the proper barrelnut. You roils have top block your own 10/20 mag yes.

The dpms free float rails come with the barrel nut. The rail attaches to it. It comes as a set.
Riflegear has 10/20 PMAG's in stock.
You have to stick with mags that are designed for SR-25/LR-308 pattern rifles.
It is possible to run an AR-15 stock and receiver extension if you buy one of Slash's CAR-10 buffers.
Someone has already mentioned that the barrel nuts are different, so the handguards are not interchangeable.
