View Full Version : A Chipley Arms Tikka Master Piece in 6.5

Diego is like a kid on Christmas morn. I just received my customized Tikka 6.5from Chipley Arms and I must say, to my liking it’s a FRICKING MASTER PIECE. It’s way more cool then I ever expected, even though I have seen similar builds from Jason. I always wanted a custom shooter that was built just for shooting BBs @ huge distances. However, because of my many hobbies and limited budget I knew a GAP, AI or Surgeon build was not in the cards for me. Thanks to Stan the “Big Bam Boo”, I now have the rifle the fits the bill, in my world anyhow.

Jason and Chipley Arms, were GREAT to do business with! Being the sentimental guy that I am, I asked Jason for a few pics during the build. The guy sent me pic after pic after pic as well as video of the build way more they I expected. He answered all my many questions and did not get frustrated with my lack of knowledge and quest for information. The gun hobby needs guys like Jason and companies like Chipley Arms and I wish them nothing but success in whatever direction the company goes!! Enough of my babbling here are the specs.

Krieger Heavy Palma 1-8 twist Stainless Barrel 30”
KRG Whisky III Chassis
20 Moa Rail from EGW
Bolt Shroud from Hinterland Outfitters
Chipley Arms Muzzle Brake
Chipley Arms Thread Protector
Chipley Arms Bolt handle conversion

Out of the box

Without the wrapping paper!! LOL

Scoped with brake

Scoped with protector

The bolt with CA handle

Brake, thread protector and tool

Mods can we ban these other Tikka owners? Diego and Big Bam Boom's Tikkas are making me want to get a new Tikka.

BTW Very Nice rifle.

Now that is a dang shame....a shame that the customer gets a nicer rifle then the guy who works in the shop!! LOL...glad to see you received it Ted. I was waiting to hear from you. Now get out there and shoot so we can have a range report.

Take care,Stan

It is a 6.5X47 Lapua. If you want to magazine feed, then the 6.5x55 will not work in the Tikka using AI mags.

X47 is great,but I'll stick with my SE:43:

I still think we need to start a Tikka club...:D

My Master Sporter is chambered for the same cartridge. I love it!

I was being a smart @zz....I have the "original" Tikka/KRG build as seen here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=486526
And own a T3 Light in .223 that I have modified with Roedale Precision bottom metal to accept AI mags.
Plus I have owned a T3 Lite in .243 that I chopped the barrel down to 16 1/2" and a Tactical model.....so you can safely assume I like TIkka's.

And we have built many long range hunting rifles based on the Tikka actions.

Here is Tikka porn:

A quick search stirred up nothing so...:shifty::whistling:

Yep you gotta love them Tikkas!! I hope to get out and shoot the new stick today. Mostly to fireform some brass but you know?? With the down pour in Diego-Town last night, there is no way I am going to get to shoot long, but I will hit the 97 yard indoor range for some load development.

Awesome rifles, I got the chance to meet Jason and Stan today both very cool guys and rifles. Ill be saving for another one.

It was good meeting up with you. Jason felt bad for the delay, but it turned out well in the end....I think you feel the same.
And again....if you ever want to make the drive back up here and hit the range for some 1000 yard shooting just let me know.

Take care,Stan
