Well as the title states, I'm looking for a .300 wm upper for an ar15 lower. Didn't see much out there, so I figure is ask here.

I think you would have a little trouble fitting a .300 Win Mag in the magazine well of an AR15. If the .308 is too long and needs a dedicated lower, the .300 would be a much greater problem.

But then you weren't serious, were you?

im sure someone could make a single shot. i think it is to long for even an AR10 lower.

I'm not talking semi-auto, I'm going for a single shot upper that attaches to an AR-15 lower like many of the .50 cal guns are doing. I was wanting to build something a bit different than the norm for my next build, but couldn't find a single shot .300wm but then again, I may have to ask one of the big manufacturers to chamber it in that.

I specifically want .300 wm for personal reasons, and I don't like shooting five dollar bills! :D. I just can't find a single shot upper in .300 though. I may just get an ar-30 in .300 win mag and call it a day.

Plus, last time I was down at Grundman's they had a big box of old stock 300 win mag ammo on clearance on the floor by the end cap of the releoading isle. I know this post will mean nothing to most but I think this guy knows the shop I'm talking about,

Except that gun doesn't utilize an AR lower receiver and can't be considered part of the AR15 family AT ALL.

OP, I know I've seen some bolt-action uppers for AR's in smaller cartridges like the .300WM (smaller, compared to .50bmg, that is) before. Let me see if I can dig them up again.

Crap.. I was wrong. I thought Ferret made a .300WM, but the smallest they make is .338LM.

Speaking of Ferret, there is a VERY good safety test and video review of the Ferret 50 upper over on Primal Rights...

I know grundmans VERY well. The thing is I can get .300wm for a LOT cheaper than .338, .510, or .416 all day long.

I know, but I'm really wanting a .300 wm and its either the ar-30 or the REM 700 sendero.

Armalite made uppers in .300 RUSM for a while, which is ballistics very similar to the .300WM but in a cartridge does not require a long slide

if you are stuck on .300WM, why not just get a bolt gun? I happen to know someone...me.. that is selling a scoped .300WM for less than you would pay for a big bore upper
