I got my RRA NM upper in less than two months, but there are many uppers that are in stock that are just as good or even better for a bit more money. Creedmoor has an excellent NM A2 upper for $1000 (the RRA was $750 plus $150 for rear site). Looking back now I wish I had bought the Creedmoor model...Just my opinion.

RRA is fine, but you have other options. Look at BCM.

By election time the wait will be a year. Let the panicking begin!

Why?

If you don't want to wait for RRA to build an upper for you, PK Firearms (http://www.pkfirearms.com/Rock_River_Arms_Barreled_Uppers/57/c) has a pretty good selection of RRA uppers in stock.

I love my RRA, but did not purchase it from Rock River. I bought my completed lower from a fella in WY and bought the completed upper from saharaguns.com. No 3 month wait for me.

Why?

I just picked an alternative. There are many alternatives to RRA. RRA is fine, but nothing super special. BCM, DD, Stag, or any number of other brands are fine as well. Take your pick and look for one in stock somewhere.

It all depend on what configuration you want, RRA provide a wide range of choices which other manufactures/vendors/assemblers can not match, like NM, A2 carbine, A2 middy, A2 rifle, 18 inch varmint, varmint EOP and a variety of true left hand models... And RRA quality is one of the highest among off the shelf ARs and priced right.(just buy from dealers not RRA directly)

Depends on what you intend to use it for. High round count carbine class, there are better options out there. Hunting, or target shooting, there are better options but its towards the top.

I agree 100%. OP never said what config he wanted.

IMHO, the RRA NM is a great buy for the money, IF that is what the OP wanted. RRA does have a bunch of options and if one looks around the internet, there are many in stock. But, for me, if I had to do it again, I would have ordered a Whit-Oak's NM upper or the Creedmoor NM upper....Again, if I had to do it again.

My RRA has been flawless so far.

Can't say that for the BCM upper I once owned and sold.(short stroking)

I would look to online vendors such as http://www.tenpercentfirearms.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=16_25_30 http://www.class3weapons.com/Default.asp http://www.adcofirearms.com/acc/productLine_.cfm?brand=Rock%20River&product_category=Complete%20Uppers or http://ar15sales.com/rra.htm & the like before placing your order with RRA.

I purchased the RRA ATH. Looks like a nice 18" Stainless setup. I like the half-quad handguard. Chrome BCG should be nice. I ordered the 2 stage chrome trigger and the buttstock. I have a Tactical Machining lower, VTAC sling, JP Ent. lower parts kit and Moe + grip. I think I'll have $1100 into the whole gig. I'm excited to see how it'll work compared to my Del-Ton but dang it takes a long time to get!

Have you tried going in the sales thread? People over there are sellign uppers hardly used for some cheap prices and no wait.
