Congrats on the fine rifle,Sir :)
I have x54R Vepr with the POSP 3-9X42 scope from Kalinka,300$ very bright and build like T34:), you can also find 3-10X42 more expencive,IMO 3-9 is more then enuf

I also put a POSP scope on my Vepr (Vepr I in .308). It's the fixed 6x mag w/weaver mount. Paid around 250-300 on Kalinka Optics. Great scope and built like a brick ****house but Jesus is it heavy. I previously had a Burris Fullfield II 3-9 x 40 on there which I sold during some financial difficulties. Gotta admit I think I liked the Fullfield II a little better. Glass was great for the price point (about $150.00) and it was much lighter than the POSP. You might want to check one out.

Might also want to give the Bushnell Elite scopes a look too. I've got their little 1-4 power 4200 series on my AR and the glass is very nice. I think they offer a simlar model in 3-9 x 40 for under $300.00.

Please don’t go down this road, been there. Get Russian made scope ,for Russian made rifle, yes it’s a little bit on the heavy sight, the only problem you will have , glass and the scope is Zeiss technology, that Soviets got after WW2,Bushnel maybe a good bolt action scope , we are talking about AK platform rifle in 308 do you know what it will do to the rings and screws? I know, it will move all the time and locktite won’t help either, final thought, the less moving parts or just parts on the scope for an AK is better, but if you’ll decide to go that road look at those mounts MOLOT is the best IMO

That's the scope I've got, except in 6 power. Keep in mind it's going to sit a little high on your Molot weaver mount and like I say, it's quite a beast of a scope (I was a little taken aback when I got it in mail). Here's a pic of it mounted on my Vepr I:

He has ,new hunter with the side mount:)

Nice stick, digdug ,is she a shooter? do you reload or factory ammo?

digdug74
03-17-2012, 12:56 AM
Nah, don't reload (yet). 99% of the ammo that's been through that rifle has been crap mil surplus stuff with typical groups in the 3ish moa range but I'm far from a crack shot with rifles so it's really hard to say about the rifle's inherent accuracy. Have actually only shot it once with that particular scope on it and I spent more time fooling around with the Russian zeroing instructions than actually shooting.

Man , I want to see how ,she is doing at the range, make some pics for us:)
As digdug says it's a little tricky with Russian scopes zeroing ,basically, what you do, you move cross hears to the target .Let say your groups are 3” lower and 3” to the left of the point off aim, you should go down 3” and 3”left,with not Russian made scopes you would go 3”up and 3” right. Have Fun and report to us :)
