I'm new to the AR world and would like to build a Ar-15. I recently bought a Jd machine lower and heard that some triggers will not work on their lower. Does anyone know what a good trigger/lower parts kit for the JD machine AR-15?

All triggers as long as it is made for an AR15 will work.

Haven't heard of this issue and a quick google doesn't show anything

Heres a recent thread about quality LPK's

IMO
PSA MOE kit is the best for the money

Or if you need a complete lower build kit
http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/lower-parts/moe-lower-build-kit.html

They also have cheaper kits with A2 grips and M4 or A2 stocks too

I have a jd calguns lower and I had to file my magpul trigger guard, that's about it.

I have 2 JD lowers, 1 with a Jewell trigger, and 1 with a geisselle SSAE and they both work fine. I had a DPMS trigger in one previously and it was fine as well.

DPMS & CMMG both make standard LPK,s that should work fine with the JD Lower. If your looking for something a little more nicer as far as a trigger goes thats up to you, as long as its platformed for the AR 15 you should have no problems.

I have a JD lower with a PSA LPK, everything seemed to fit ok with the only problems occuring from my poor mechanical skills.

JD lowers had some issues with over anodizing so their holes were a little tight...

I had some issues with retaining pin, but after dremel and sanding it fit snug. Regardless if you do buy one and have any issue just call them up, they are good to go company and I'm sure they will rectify any situation you have.

ok. I was thinking about getting a 20"BCM barrel with a 1:7 twist for it but I'm not sure if there are any requirements for the upper with running a long rifle barrel.

Not true! Stay away from large pin triggers those are generally made for Colt receivers.
