Get the Garand, who knows when they will run out. The Vepr is a new production rifle and will be around for a while.

Thanks everyone for your valuble input. Ordering Garand straight away! By the way, I was talking to a friend of a friend who just finished his mil duty in S.Korea as supply off @ armory. He claims there are 1000's of crates full of unused M1's stored. There must be someway to convince the S.korean gov to sell those back to us here.....just my random fantancies...

I'm sure they would love to sell them to US importers. But my understanding is that the sale is blocked by some silly rule/red tape/the Obama administration. Can't remember the particulars.

Greek Return Garands are still plentiful. (although the SA Corrects just sold out)

I wished those carbines would've come home so we can see Big5 sell them at $99. :D
