This bill was just introduced into the Senate apparently. http://www.manchin.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/press-releases?ID=3e37b3ac-b755-48cc-b13e-bff449a08204
So, anyone think this bill will actually become law? :)

Not in the Dem controlled Senate. Even if. Y some miracle it does pass Obama won't sign.

The legislation also says an individual who is ineligible for a concealed carry permit in his or her state would not be allowed to obtain an out-of-state permit in a state with less restrictive eligibility requirements, and use that permit to carry a concealed handgun in his or her state. The Senate bill, endorsed by the National Rifle Association (NRA), is also sponsored by Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska) and Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho). A similar bill passed the House last year with a vote of 272-164.
Interesting.Way to go for the Democrats to *advance* gun rights in America.Id imagine those Dems are not going to be invited to Obama's Christmas Party this year.As to whether it will pass, flip a coin.Whether the bill passes or not this should be an interesting debate if the House was any indication.
As to whether Obama will sign it,who knows. If this bill pases the Senate he's going to be in a heckuva pickle.Sign it and anger the liberal base he needs to be re-elected,or veto it to certain doom in the polls. He may sign it into law as the lesser of two evils compared to a veto which will publicly mark him an an anti rights imbecile.

This is one that we will have to sit back and watch.
Hopefully the Senate will pass this bill, then it will be on to the reconciliation process where they work out the differences between the House and Senate versions. Then if we are lucky, it gets to the President's desk before the election. If the bill hit's Barry's desk, he will be in trouble if he signs it, and he will be in trouble if he vetos it.

Here's hoping that the main course will be roast lame duck.

Multiple dupe - this is the same 822 that passed the House and went to the Senate in November.
It's nice that Senator Manchin co-sponsors.
